DIAMOND. This well-known mineral powerfully absorbs and amplifies thoughts of user, other gems and wearer’s strengths and weaknesses. Used with loving, clear intent it clears blocks and opens Crown Chakra. It helps with spiritual love, peace, clarity, trust and confidence. No emotion can affect its pure mental nature. Ancients also used it for detox as it is said to protect from poisons. When considering the use of a Diamond for healing purposes, one must ignore its monetary value and concentrate upon the stone’s unique relationship with energy. It is frequently combined with other gems or crystals. If used with an Aquamarine, a Diamond will increase the cleansing properties and mental soothing that Aquamarine helps to produce. It worn or carried alone, it will amplify the energy of the wearer. Unfortunately, this includes any negative energy the wearer might possess as well. Some literature contends that the blue light within the color spectrum of a Diamond is beneficial for glaucoma. Diamonds are beneficial to the brain and testicles. Some recommend it for diseases of the bladder but only in desperate cases. In all cases, the stone needs to touch the skin in order to increase its effectiveness. Emeralds and amethysts are especially amplified by Diamonds. HERKIMER DIAMOND is called the “stone of attunement”. While it is not actually diamond, it is a quartz that often resembles the sparkling clarity of diamonds. It can be metaphysically programmed to attune one to an environment, a situation, a quality, or most anything. It is said to assist with balance on the mental, emotional and physical levels. It can be used effectively to clear and open any chakra. It is professed to relieve tension and thereby promote peace of mind. Psychically, it’s useful for auric cleansing and dream recall. Mystical lore says that physically it can be used to heal addictions and remove toxins. The Herkimer Diamond is one very powerful stone with similar qualities to quartz. It is known as a friend to all with the ability to release stress and tension throughout the body. It also strengthens and boosts the power of other stones.

ROCK CRYSTAL or CLEAR QUARTZ. Probably the most versatile multi purpose healing stone, it is easy to cleanse, store info/energy in, program or amplify energy and healing with. Can both draw and send energy. Powerful clear ones open brow, crown, and transpersonal chakra for meditation, sending/receiving guidance. Stimulates natural crystals in body tissues and fluids to resonate at new healing frequency. Works with all chakras and master gland. For Spiritual Healers, no stone is as essential to their craft as quartz. Embodying all the qualities they seek, it is the quintessential healing Crystal. Part of this faith they place in Quartz comes from its scientific properties that make it useful in electronic devices. From this one truth, Crystal therapists make huge leaps in logic. They believe that its crystal formation can align the harmonies within the human body, that they can “program” the crystal easily, that acupuncture needles coated with quartz are more effective, and that it has the ability to receive and send energy. Crystal Healers use clear Quartz in rituals meant to treat convulsions, diarrhea, dizziness, exposure to radiation, general pain, hemorrhages, headaches, hypochondria and kidney diseases. For emotional healing, spiritualists believe this crystal to be an important self-esteem stone. Besides being a stone of tranquility and repose, amethyst is also known to enhance mental strength, stability, and vigor. It also is protective in averting the mind from psychic attacks and transforming negative energy in to that of positive and tranquil tenacity. It is also used to bring understanding of all that is transitional, especially death and rebirth. It can provide security and peace of mind (along with understanding) when a loved one is lost or reborn. It is said to also have a relieving effect on stress, grief, depression, emotional despair and ineffective communication. Amethyst as a healing stone or crystal is used to treat and heal problems involving the central nervous system. Amethyst is a treatment for both convulsions and neuralgia.

SODALITE helps to remove all confusion. It is said to give you self-esteem and courage and allows you to get connected with your true feelings.
It is said to vibrate with the Third Eye Chakra, which facilitates intuition, psychic awareness, ESP and insight. Sodalite is associated with the thyroid and is highly effective when worn in a necklace. Wear it when you want to loose a few pounds. It helps in communicating and will give confidence to speak more and communicate with your lover, friends, and family. By enhancing self-expression and communication peace and happiness will come easier to one’s life. It is believed to strengthen the immune and lymphatic systems of the body. By strengthening these systems it balances the mind and the body, resulting in spiritual growth and overall better health. LAPIS LAZULI. When working or meditating with Lapis Lazuli, it can bring matters more clearly to the mind. It is one of the most powerful stones and should be used with care. Wearing a Lapis Lazuli ring can help you to become a channel. The ancient Egyptians used Lapis Lazuli as a symbol of Truth. Lapis (the deep blue kind) allows you to perceive emotional issues more clearly. Now, that does not mean it helps calm them or affect the type of emotions.
It allows you to see them for what they are, clearly. Kind of like putting on glasses when one cannot see. It takes away the blur. Lapis Lazuli is used with other stones when parts of the body need to be purified and cleansed and should be only used by a healer. Lapis Lazuli has high intensity and can open many of the charka centers. This must be done only with love in the heart and comprehension in the mind and wisdom in soul.

TURQUOISE opens the Throat Chakra, for open communication, creativity, serenity, spiritual bonding, upliftment. Turquoise also Opens the Heart Chakra for giving and receiving. Symbolizes our source (spirit/sky) and spiritual love for healing. On brow chakra: Gives Psychic connection to Great Spirits. Strengthens and aligns all meridians, chakras, and energy fields. Like amethyst, it protects and detoxes from alcohol, poison, pollution, x-ray, and sun radiation. It is an Ancient absorber of “negativity” and protection from the “evil eye.” Brings wisdom and helps with anorexia, headache, fear. It is said to assist with quick intellectual response. It gives peace, and shielding for the aura. Aquamarine is reputed to assist with calming communication issues. Mystical and folklore states that it is attuned to the sea, and protects travelers on water, and sailors. Aquamarine is associated with the throat chakra.

BLUE SAPPHIRE is for communication, insight, intuition, clairaudience, inspiration, spiritual prayer/devotion, peacefulness, Pituitary and Thyroid. It helps to detoxing skin, body and acts as an antidepressant. It cools, contracts, soothes, thus reducing inflammation, fevers, and nose bleeds. It is good for Hearing problems, burns, Nervous system, Epilepsy and meridians. Strongest if next to skin, Especially Throat Chakra. Also wisdom, will, centering, and cheerfulness, luck. Reduces radiation effects, anxiety, and procrastination. Some effects will be subtle. Blue Sapphire nourishes, heals, and brings order to the mind. Its energy permeates the fabric of your mind, clearing out mental “garbage,” teaching mental discrimination, and bringing clarity and perspective to your thoughts. Rose Quartz – (Translucent to clear Pink, may fade in the sun) Rose Quartz is the corner-stone for the heart Chakra. Its energy is essential to self-fulfillment and inner peace. The soft soothing pink of Rose Quartz comforts and heals any wounds the heart has accumulated. It is a stone for those who are unable to experience the joy of living because they never had love given to them. It is for people who have not experienced the true essence of love and are therefore unable to access the inner realms of the heart. Being an important member of the Quartz family, Rose Quartz inherits dynamic intensity and healing power. In addition, it manifests a calm vibration of soft sweet pink.
Often when children are reared and do not receive the love and nurturing that is vitally necessary in the development of a positive self-image. If the basic emotional needs are not met a child will subconsciously conclude that he/she is not worth loving and as a result will not know how to love him/herself and to give and to share love with others. Children suffering from this kind of deprivation grow up with attitudes about themselves and about life that perpetuate their feeling of loneliness ands worthlessness. Not feeling good about oneself, it is very difficult to attract positive circumstances and fulfilling relationships. Unfortunately, adults who never received love as children will often be unable to provide it to their children, and the vicious circle will continue.
Unless a deep inner healing takes place and these primal imprints are erased, there is little chance for inner peace or true happiness. Rose Quartz is the healer for such internal wounds. Aventurine – is frequently known as a stone of great spirituality. It has been said to be a healing gem with a wondrous capacity for mental and physical healing properties. Spiritualists have long held that Aventurine has the ability to ground the spirit and bring balance to male and female energies. Its capacity to calm a troubled spirit or mind and bring an inner peace make Aventurine a very important stone in the spiritual realm. Aventurine’s strongest mental healing characteristic is its ability to ground an individual emotionally, thus allowing for thought that is free of fear, troubled emotions, indecisiveness, and anxiety. This clarity of mind and self confidence that result from wearing this powerful stone energize, inspire, motivate and enhance one’s ability to relate to others on an emotional level. It is a stone for leaders, for protectors and counselors; wear it when making critical decisions, when anxious or when feeling overwhelmed by life’s problems and it will amplify your ability to focus and find creative solutions. Aventurine to be the best all around healing stone, because, along with the many mental benefits of Aventurine healing, there are also many physical healing powers that followers of Alternative Medicine attribute to the stone. While its primary physical healing function is to heal afflictions of the heart and lungs and adrenal system, healers also consider Aventurine helpful in the treatment of fevers, inflammation, nervous system stress and migraines, eye ailments, blood pressure abnormalities, hypertension and urogenital disorders.

Jade – (The colour range of Nephrite Jade is olive green, misty green,light green and brown green) Encourages practicality, wisdom, mental peace and tolerance of others. They also believe it can rejuvenate during periods of stress, reduce fears, banish negative thoughts and increase a person’s capacity for giving and receiving love. Jade makes a good worry stone and is often used in rosaries.
Crystal healers associate Jade with ailments of the immune system, thymus, heart, kidney and nervous system. Nephrite is actually derived from the Greek word for kidneys and is still a remedy among healers for Nephritic Colic. The crystal healing followers also believe it can stimulate white blood cell and adrenaline production, which could account for its long association with sports. Eastern athletes believe it can darken in times of superior fitness and lighten when illness comes. It was considered to be a sacred stone during the times of historical China and it is still used to make sacred articles today.

Tiger’s Eye – (a Chalcedony Quartz, Yellow to gold in colour) Indicated for ulcers, anxiety, gall bladder problems, hay fever and hypochondria. It is a stone for confidence, will power, clears thinking and speaking, brings personal power in life. It helps grounding the elevated conscience of the crown chakra (7th) in physical reality. It has the ability to bring Heaven on Earth. It is a good stone for those unable to manifest their will in action.

Citrine – (Clear yellow to orange and brown, may fade in the sun) is used for mental and emotional clarity, memory improvement, stronger will power, optimism and confidence. It is the best stone when dealing with material problems of the terrestrial existence such as business, education, interpersonal and family relationships. Healing stone for digestion, stomach, food disorders, allergies and detoxification. Reduces anxiety, fear and depression. It’s vibrating yellow-orange colour will enhance the light surrounding the body, forming a protective aura, which means it helps reduce influence of negative vibrations.

Malachite – (has a steady pulsing electromagnetic energy) It is a stone that rapidly absorbs negative energies from painful areas. It Releases and draws out pain, inflammation, depression, anger and heals blocks. Protects well by powerfully cleaning the auric field, rapidly absorbing undesirable energies. Because of its capacity of bringing to the surface all that that is not obvious, it is recommended to be worn/used with a stone like rose quartz and amethyst. Azurite and chrysocolla both have the ability to combine their blue nuances with Malachite’s green. It is not recommended to be cleansed in salt, as it is very soft.

Amber – (Petrified tree resin) This stone is sacred to American Indians. It is known to have the ability to draw disease from the body, and because Amber absorbs negative energy it needs to be cleansed regularly. It acts through the solar plexus chakra to calms nerves and gives confidence, helps with spleen, liver and gallbladder problems and it is a Very sensual stone.

Carnelian – (Chalcedony (jasper)) Used for confidence, boldness, initiative, dramatic abilities, assertiveness, fertility. It warms and cleanses blood and kidneys. It stimulates appetite, emotions, passion, sexuality, physical energy, celebration and reproductive system. This is a healing stone for menstrual cramps, arthritis, kidneys, gall bladder, asthma and the pancreas.

Moonstone – Functions better when charged by the moonlight (but not any lunar stage so caution is advised). It is a feminine stone and it’s health indications refer to PMS, menopause and Reproductive System (including fertility).

There are others, of course, but I will stop at these for now.

Here are some of the effects of the vibration of these crystals when you come in contact with them, some of the illnesses they are used for:

Hematite – (Silver-gray metallic, it is an iron ore which is iron oxide usually FeO2) It is one of the most grounding of all stones, it reduces stress and combats insomnia. It is said to help increase courage, concentrate energy and strengthen the heart. It is very beneficial to those attracted to it, but it is considered to be one of those stones that you either love or hate. Good for anemia, neck tension and muscles in general, depressive states. Very good Crystal for blood and blood ilnesses but also for ballancing the energies in your body.

Garnet (almandine) – (deep rich wine red in colour) Garnet is recommended for those of us who need to improve our self confidence and increase our courage. It also assists in past life recall and attracts love.

Rhodolite – (a variety of garnet) It is an excellent stabiliser and can bring calm to the physical, mental and ethereal bodies.

Red Jasper – (sometimes has black and/or white veins running through it, like marble. It is very red and depending on the size, the veins could be more brown/black or even white) It is good for anything related to blood and circulation, especially blood diseases and bronchial problems. Cancer, TB, diabetes, all of these can be treated with Red Jasper.

Ruby – (Contains chromium) and is good for blood sugar balance. It warms and energizes after exhaustion. Strengthens physical and emotional heart (4th chakra). Gives love, courage, confidence, vitality, stamina, strength, leadership, and success over challenges. Intensifies all emotions (passion, jealousy, hatred, love…) Attempted use for pressure/control (for love) backfires onto user. Used for reproductive (root) Chakra. Helps to stop infections, cholesterol, clots and gives a blood detox removing alcohol, caffeine and helps with sexual blocks. Stimulates circulation, menses, and the pituitary gland.

1. Salt:

Put some sea salt in a glass bowl (not the so-called “crystal”; that is in fact lead glass and is not good for this purpose) then sink the crystal/s you wish to cleanse in the salt, so that it is fully covered. If sea salt is unavailable, regular salt may be used. Its effect is less refined but it’s better than nothing.

First-time cleansing – leave in salt for 6 days.

Regularly cleanse your crystal (depending on how often you use it) – weekly or monthly (or more often for certain crystals). Leave in salt for about 24 hours.

2. Salt water:

1-4 spoons of Sea Salt in a glass bowl in cool water (depending on the size of the bowl). Place the crystals in the water. Make sure the crystals are covered with water. Let them bathe in the water for about 4 days (1^st time) or 24-48 hours for regular cleansing.

Some crystals should NOT be washed/cleansed in salt water/sun for it changes their physical properties

Not to be cleansed in salt: malachite, selenite
Not to be cleansed in Salt Water: Calcite, Carnelian, Celestite, Labradorite (Spectrolite), Lepidolite, Moldavite, Opal, Pearl, Selenite, Turquoise, Ulexite

For the crystals mentioned above, you may want to use one of the following methods:

3. Salt influence

Half-fill a glass bowl with salt. Place inside a smaller glass container. Place the crystals to be cleansed in that second glass. Make sure the salt level is above the highest crystal point.

Salt is not to be reused since it retains the negative energy of the crystal that was in it. You can flush it down the toilet; just make sure you have all your crystals before doing that.

4. Cluster

Place your crystal on a large crystal cluster or amethyst cathedral for 24-48 h. Ideal for small crystals and jewelry.

If polished/cut in shape, ask the crystal to forgive the person who brutalized it. To do that, enter a meditative state then address the crystal with respect, as a valued friend and mentor. Repeat this cleansing 3-4 times and do not use for healing right away, as it may not respond properly. Your intuition will tell you when the crystal is ready to be used for healing.

5. Smudging

Another method to cleanse your crystals is passing them through the smoke of an incense stick or smudging herbs. It is a fast way to cleanse crystals that you are using on a regular basis and/or are not suited for water/salt water cleansing due to their properties or size. One of the most convenient cleansing methods.

If you know or believe that your crystal came in contact with negative energies, cleanse it before you use it again.

Cold water

After you remove your crystal from the salt or salt water, hold your crystal under running water (cold tap water if none other available) for about 10-15 minutes. Visualize all dark and dense energies dissolving and washing away. If you’re at a beach or near a stream, or waterfall, allow the water to flow over your stones. If not, visualize a waterfall while you hold the stones under the tap. A method I use is to visualize a ray of white light coming over the stone and purifying it of all negative that’s left on it.

Recharging:

After you cleansed your crystal(s), it is ready to be charged/recharged.

When you take your crystal out of the running water, let it dry in open air under sunlight or moonlight preferably directly on the ground.

Sunlight – An hour or more of sunlight will charge most crystals. Sunlight is terrific for clear quartz. After a sunbath on your windowsill, your clear quartz crystals will be noticeably brighter. For the crystals that have the tendency to fade in sunlight, half an hour is enough.

May fade in Sunlight: Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Celestite, Opal, Turquoise, Fluorite

Moonlight – Moonlight is a gentle and penetrating method for recharging your stones. The light of the full moon is desirable, being brightest, but the light of any phase will serve.

Crystal Attunement
As you begin to work with crystals and to attune yourself to their energy, you will notice two things: 1) No two crystals attunements are ever alike and 2) Attunement to your crystal is always attunement into yourself. Therefore, each time you practice attuning to or tuning into, the energy world of your crystal, the experience will be different as you come to know various aspects both of that particular crystal and yourself.
In order to become more comfortable with your own unique way of relating to crystals, it often helps to have a basic means of guiding yourself into an attunement experience. Here are some suggestions that can serve as a guideline for attunement to your personal crystals. Before beginning, always clear your crystal first.
1. Set up an environment for yourself that is as quiet, comfortable and pleasing to you as possible. Sit in a-position that allows you spine to be straight yet relaxed and flexible. You may choose to play a favorite tape as background music.
2. As you begin any attunement process, it is good to practice to surround yourself with white light or Divine Light and to invoke energies to protect and purity so that your experience can be for you highest possible good.
3. Hold your crystal in whatever way feels comfortable to you. Do not be concerned whether or not you should hold the crystal in one hand or two, the right or left hand. There are truly no “shoulds” or rules Allow this to be your own personal experience and do what feels innately right to you in the moment.
4. Physically connect with the crystal, gently exploring its surface with your hands, noticing its physical qualities and the initial energy reaction that takes place from your contact.
5. Look directly at your crystal, noticing its shape and form, its color or clarity, its light qualities, and inclusions or any refractive or rainbow properties within the crystal. Enjoy the visual aesthetics of your crystal, gazing both at the surface and at the inside of the crystal.
6. Gently close your eyes and become aware of the natural rhythm of your breath, don’t force it, just let the slow rise and fall of your body as you inhale and exhale massage away all stress and tension, leaving you calm and relaxed. Allow anything that is keeping you from your natural state of relaxation to simply drop away as you hold your crystal and breath.
7. Let your awareness gradually extend to your crystal as you prepare to attune to and merge with the energy of the crystal.
8. Now, in your inner knowing, your mind’s eye, imagine yourself entering the crystal. This may happen in any number of ways. You may find yourself growing smaller and entering the crystal through an opening or entry that you notice in the crystal. Or the crystal may grow larger until you can easily enter it. Or perhaps you simply breathe yourself into the crystal and find yourself there. However it happened, enjoy the process of entering or merging with the crystal. Let it be whatever it is as you relax and become one with the crystal.
9. Enjoy the sensation of being one with the crystal. Notice the energy, the thoughts, the feelings and the physical sensations that you experience in this union. Do you see any colors, images, scenes, or symbols? Feel free to explore in the inner world of the crystal and to experience its reality on all levels, with all your senses. Take in the emotional and energy environment of the crystal, its atmosphere and essential qualities.
10. Now prepare to take your leave of the crystal. Thank the crystal… and your inner self… for allowing you this experience. To leave the crystal simply go back the way you came, exiting the crystal as you entered it and breathing yourself back into your physical body.
11. As you return your awareness to your physical body, see yourself once again surrounded and protected by white light, your aura intact and sealed and whole.
12. Take a moment as you open your eyes to stretch and move your body and to bring your full attention to your physical body, the present moment and your surroundings. Give yourself some time to come fully back into this present reality.
If you find it difficult to come back after attuning to your crystal, or if it takes you a long time to return or you feel spacey or light headed afterward, you may want to tape the attunement for yourself so that you know how long the attunement will be and can bring yourself back more comfortably. Or you can play one side of a favorite tape whose length you are familiar with so that the clicking off of the tape brings you back or set an alarm and place it under a pillow to mute that sound a bit. To ground yourself after an attunement, you can connect with the earth’s energy by placing your bare feet firmly on the floor, by touching the palms of your hands to the floor, by making a loud sound (Ha or Ho works very well or clapping your hands once), by touching your body with your hands to anchor the energy into your body, or by drinking some spring water. If you continue to have some difficulty coming back, you may want to skip the merging aspect of attunement for a while and tune into your crystals physically and visually until you are more familiar with crystal energy. There is no need to hurry the process – crystals are infinitely patient, having taken millennia to form, and you have plenty of time to get where you want to be with your crystals.
As you become use to attuning to your crystals, you will discover that the means of attunement are endless changing and new facets of consciousness will open up to you. Be patient with yourself and the process and a whole new inner world will unfold before you. Be with your crystals with love and respect and you will learn to be with your Self with love and respect.

Crystals can be very powerful and are very sensitive. Crystals, like all things, have an energy field – aura – and their different energies can be used to balance/enhance our own body’s energies. As with many natural therapies, crystals have been used as a healing aid for centuries.
Crystal energy, as colour energy, can help to awaken our awareness, not just of the physical imbalance / disease, but awareness of the psychological, spiritual and emotional aspects of ourselves.
Some crystals suit some people better or in different ways than others, but this simply emphasizes our uniqueness and our different needs. As with many forms of healing, we take what we need. The choice of a crystal can be simply your body knowing what it needs without the ‘interference’ of the intellect. This is often apparent when someone who has no experience in crystal healing will instinctively choose a crystal that happens to be the very type that his or her body requires.
The following exercise will help you to relax and receive guidance from the colours and/or the crystals you are using.
When you start the exercise and once you’ve placed the crystal gems on the appropriate places on your body, make sure you are comfortable and close your eyes. Spend a few minutes performing some deep, controlled breathing exercises. Breathe in slowly and deeply, then slowly breathe out. Do this for several minutes. While doing so, clear and calm your mind and imagine that each time you breath out you are releasing all stress, worries and negative energies within you. Spend as long as you need to relax and clear your mind, but 5 minutes should be long enough. While doing this, imagine yourself being surrounded by a pure, bright white, loving light. This is your protective energy, which will remain surrounded around your body during the exercise.

Colour Meditation

Visualize a beautiful rainbow above your head filled with every colour you can imagine.

Pull down the colour red from your rainbow. Allow the red to bathe the body, filling every cell, every atom until every part of you and surroundings become red.

Pull down the colour orange. Allow this beautiful colour to fill your body with its magnificent light.

Next pull down the colour yellow. The gorgeous colour of the warm sun. Fill your body and surroundings with yellow.

Allow the colour green to enter the body now. Filling every cell of the body with this beautiful hue; the colour of grass, the colour of the trees. Allow the healing power of the colour of green to embrace you fully.

Visualize the colour blue. Allow the blue to bathe your throat chakra; your area of communication and speech. See gorgeous blue mist filling the area, cleansing, rejuvenating the chakra.

See the colour purple filling the third eye point; the area of your brow between the eyes. See this colour, like a perfect plum, filling the entire body with purple light energy.
Release the purple now and fill the body with light from your higher power. Your source. Fill the body with awesome bright white light. Allow the light to embrace you fully…cleansing the body of pain, stress or fatigue.

Slowly open with eyes and come back to this place in time, fully relaxed, fully renewed.
